Kathleen was selected for the Candidate Development Program (CDP) in the fall of 2006 and assigned in January 2007 as the Field Director, Austin Submission Processing Center. As Director, she was responsible for the processing of over 9 million individual paper returns with over 4,000 employees during peak season. In May of 2009 Kathleen was assigned as the Area Director for Stakeholder Partnership, Education, and Communications (SPEC) in the Wage & Investment (W&I) Division. She is responsible for maintaining an organizational focus on assisting taxpayers in satisfying their tax responsibilities by building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders. Her geographic area of responsibility includes thirteen states in the central part of the USA (i.e., Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota). Kathleen graduated from the Executive Readiness Program in April 2006. Developmental assignments included a seven month detail as the Andover Submission Processing Director and as the National Project Leader for the Redesign of Form 1040 and new Schedule O. She began her IRS career in 1969 in the Burlington, Vermont District Office in the Special Procedures Collection Function and held all of the positions within Taxpayer Service. She also served as Chief Taxpayer Service and the Compliance 2000 Coordinator, prior to her departure from the Burlington District in 1996 when the district offices were reorganized. In 1996, Kathleen relocated to Atlanta and was the Individual Master File Section Chief in the Adjustments Branch now known as Accounts Management. She has also held numerous positions within the Submission Processing Center including being the Senior Accounting Operations Manager in Atlanta. Kathleen is a graduate of Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. She and her husband have twin daughters who are both are married and live with their spouses in New England. In their free time Kathleen and Jim enjoy visiting family, as they have two new grandchildren, playing golf and attending sporting events.
