Suzanne Mayo-Theus Suzanne Mayo-Theus

Suzanne Mayo-Theus is the National Director of Black America Saves and has served as the Graduate Coordinator of K-State Students Save in conjunction with The America Saves National Campaign. Suzanne is also currently a doctoral candidate in the School of Family Studies and Human Services at Kansas State University while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the School of Family Studies and Human Services and The School of Leadership Studies since 2005. Suzanne is management and educational consultant and fundraiser for various not-for-profit organizations in the United States and abroad. An entrepreneur and unique business strategist, she serves as CEO of Mynette Management Company, a consulting firm specializing in government relations, fundraising, association management, marketing, public relations and event management for more than 20 years. While at the Kansas State University Foundation as the Director of Diversity and Multicultural Fundraising, Suzanne developed various corporate partnerships for diversity at KSU, raising over $16 Million Dollars for these programs, and creating many innovative partnerships between corporations, foundations, the university, specializing in diversity programs that are cutting edge and innovative. Suzanne also served as The Alumni Director and Development Director at Bowie State University in the University of Maryland System. Suzanne received her associate and bachelors degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science with honors from Grambling State University in Louisiana and received her masters in Urban and Regional Planning from The University of the District of Columbia. She spent more than 19 years on Capitol Hill working as a professional staffer in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, The Congressional Black Caucus and The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. She is a strategic planner who trains government, business, and educational leaders how to beat the competition, position them for success and obtain human and capital resources. Her proudest accomplishment is being the mom of her 16 year-old son, Destin.
